One payment. The version you bought keeps working forever, on your own machine, with no check-in and no expiry.
No subscription. No remote kill switch. No feature you already paid for disappearing behind a new tier.
What a payment buys is the software and twelve months of updates. When that year is up nothing switches off — you keep the last version you received, for as long as you like. Another year of updates is available if you want one, and ignoring it costs you nothing.
